HANDGUARD INSTALLATION
Step 1 – Verify Firearm is Unloaded
- Remove the magazine
- Open the action
- Visually inspect the chamber
- Remove all ammunition from the work area
Step 2 – Remove Factory Handguard Screw
Using the supplied 5/32″ bit:
- Flip the rifle upside down
- Locate the front handguard screw
- Remove the screw carefully
IMPORTANT:
- The sling stud assembly is modular and may loosen during removal
- There is also a spacer/shim in this assembly
Recommended:
- Leave components loosely assembled to avoid losing parts
Step 3 – Remove Factory Handguard
The factory handguard is retained tightly by sling studs.
Using a non-marring punch and hammer:
- Tap lightly on the sling stud area
- Pull the handguard rearward and off the rifle
NOTE:
- Two locating studs from the receiver engage the handguard
- Moderate resistance is normal
Step 4 – Install New Handguard
IMPORTANT:
The handguard installs by sliding over the receiver posts.
- Align the handguard cutouts with:
- Main center post
- Two locating studs
- Slide the handguard fully upward toward the barrel
- Lower it into position
NOTE:
If installed incorrectly, the handguard will hang up and not seat fully.
Step 5 – Install Handguard Mounting Screw
Using the supplied screw and 5/32″ bit:
- Insert the mounting screw through the handguard
- Thread into the mounting post
IMPORTANT:
- Reverse-thread slightly first to avoid cross-threading
- Tighten the handguard mounting screw to 10 in-lbs
As tightened:
- The mounting plate flexes slightly
- All wobble should disappear
Installation of the handguard is now complete.
MODULAR STOCK INSTALLATION
Step 6 – Remove Factory Butt Pad
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver:
- Remove the two butt pad screws
- Remove the butt pad carefully
IMPORTANT:
- Do not over torque wood screws during reinstallation
- Overtightening can strip or crack the stock
Step 7 – Remove Factory Buttstock
Using the supplied T-handle:
- Look inside the buttstock
- Locate the stock mounting bolt
- Remove the bolt and washer
- Pull the buttstock rearward and remove
TIP:
Leave the bolt and washer loosely installed in the stock to avoid losing them.
Step 8 – Disassemble Modular Stock (If Pre-Assembled)
Some kits may already be assembled for display.
If needed:
- Remove the upper and lower stock screws
- Separate the grip module from the stock body
NOTE:
- Short screw installs on the bottom during reassembly
- Long screw installs on top
Step 9 – Install Grip Module
- Slide the grip module onto the receiver tang
- Insert the supplied mounting screw
- Tighten using the T-handle
IMPORTANT:
- Reverse-thread slightly first to avoid cross-threading
- Fitment may feel snug due to anodizing tolerances
- Tighten snugly only
Step 10 – Reassemble Stock
- Reinstall the stock body onto the grip module
- Install:
- Long screw on top
- Short screw on bottom
- Tighten evenly
OPTIONAL ACCESSORY TUBE INSTALLATION
Step 11 – Prepare Accessory Tube Hardware
The accessory tube kit includes:
- Accessory tube
- Front and rear mounting screws
- Spacers
- Rubber retaining O-rings
- Wide rear washer
NOTE:
The accessory tube is hollow and includes a removable end cap for storage.
Step 12 – Stage Mounting Screws
IMPORTANT:
The mounting screws must be pre-installed into the handguard before reinstalling it.
- Insert:
- Long screw into rear M-LOK slot
- Short screw into front mounting location
- Install spacers onto screws
- Install rubber O-rings to retain hardware
The O-rings prevent the screws from falling out during installation.
Step 13 – Reinstall Handguard
- Reinstall the handguard onto the rifle
- Reinstall the main mounting screw
- Tighten snugly
Step 14 – Install Accessory Tube
- Slide the accessory tube into the lower handguard channel
- Align the rear mounting screw first
- Start threads carefully
- Align and install front mounting screw
- Tighten both screws evenly
IMPORTANT:
- Do NOT over torque
- Handguard and accessory tube are aluminum
- Stripped threads cannot be repaired easily
FINAL INSPECTION
Before use:
- Verify all hardware is secure
- Ensure handguard and stock are fully seated
- Check for movement or wobble
- Confirm proper action function
- Verify magazine insertion and removal
- Ensure no interference with controls or barrel
Installation is now complete.
